My group presentation theme was Pontius Pilate and Political Structure.  Pontius Pilate was a governor prefect of Judea from 26 AD to 36 AD ( The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica ).  During Jesus' case, he was best known as the judge (Biography.com Editors).  He declared Jesus of treason and ordered his crucifixion (Biography.com Editors).  During his reign of power, he could collect tax , had supreme judgment, and could maintain law and order (Biography.com Editors).  The political structure during his time was a hierarchal structure based on ancestry, property, wealth, citizenship, and freedom ( www.hierarchystructure.com/roman-empire-social-hierarchy/ ).   There is evidence of Pontius Pilate's existence.  There was an artifact fragment found in Caesarea Maritima ( allaboutarchaeology.org ).  In Latin, it stated, “Pontius Pilatus, Prefect of Judea, has dedicated to the people of Caesarea a temple in honor of Tiberius" ( allaboutarchaeology.o...

Growing up, I have always attended a Catholic school, so I know quite a lot about Jesus prior to the "Living with the Gospel" class.  I also grew up in a Catholic family, which helped me establish a strong relationship with Jesus.  Throughout elementary and middle school, I have learned about Jesus' teachings, miracles, and parables.  When Jesus was brought down to Earth by God, He performed many miracles and spread the word of the God.  He received many followers, along with many nonbelievers.  He is our Savior who died for us to forgive our sins.   This painting depicts how Jesus guides us from the   early stages of our life.  His love knows no boundary, He guides us until we grow old enough to teach other people of God's love. Since I have a strong relationship with Jesus already,  so far this unit has not influenced my thoughts about Him.  My memory has been refreshed of the different names...
